Kaitlynn Anderson is the West Virginia Uncovered Project’s AmeriCorps VISTA member this year. She is helping with outreach and training for all of our participant newspapers along with implementing several citizen journalism initiatives. Kaitlynn will work to create relationships between the newspapers and schools in partner areas by initiating digital media training for educators in local schools. She graduated from West Virginia University in 2011 with a BSJ in Television Journalism and a second concentration in French.
As an undergraduate student at the WVU P.I. Reed School of Journalism, she spent four years working at WVU’s radio station, U92 “The Moose,” and a semester at WVU’s independent student newspaper, The Daily Athenaeum, as a junior staff writer. During her down-time she is a volunteer and records science talks for the West Virginia chapter of “Science on Tap.”
Originally from Wellsburg, W.Va., she will be with the project until August 2013.
