Q: What are your work experiences in the field of journalism?
A: I have written for West Virginia Illustrated since January 2011. While interning with WVi, I covered the WVU football and basketball teams. I have also written a few articles for WVUPros.com, a website dedicated to former WVU players in the professional leagues.

Q: What do you do in your spare time?
A: Whatever I do, it usually has to do with sports, whether it is watching them or playing them. I also like to study the Civil War and learn as much as I can historically about the region I grew up in in the Eastern Panhandle.

Q: What are your long term goals?
A: My ultimate goal is to work in New York City as a beat writer for a professional sports team. New York is the center of the media world, and I want to be a part of it.

Q: What are the challenges and rewards of telling multimedia stories in West Virginia?
A: One of the biggest challenges of covering stories in West Virginia is the seclusion of many areas. It could take hours to get to one town while driving up, over and around mountains. That is also what makes it very rewarding. Each town may be really far from another, but each town has its own stories that needs to be told.
