“After living abroad for six months in one of the flattest countries in the world, I didn’t realize until now that the mountains of West Virginia bring comfort and a sense of home for me.”

Q:What do you your spare time?
A: Travel! I absolutely love seeing new places. I spent last semester studying abroad in Denmark, where I got the opportunity to travel to Germany, France, England, Ireland, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Portugal. I spend all my spare time and money on road trips, concerts and plane tickets.

Q: What do you hope to learn by working on this project?
A: With a background in print journalism, I will be lending my writing and editing skills. I hope to polish my still photography skills as well as learn more about shooting and editing video. I hope to gain multimedia skills that I can teach the rural newspaper staffs and use in the workplace after graduation.

Q: What kind of music do you prefer?
A: A day doesn’t go by where I don’t listen to music. I love discovering new artists and going to concerts. Since I’m constantly searching for new music, my favorite artists are constantly changing. The only consistent bands that I call my favorite are Coldplay, Led Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac.

Q: What are your long term career goals?
A: I would love to continue writing while incorporating web and multimedia journalism. My dream job would involve a lot of traveling and documentary-style work in a larger news market such as Boston, Seattle, Chicago or San Francisco; or as an international reporter abroad. I also hope to one day write a book of my own.
