“We have some stereotypes, but there’s so much beauty and there’s so much good to this state that needs to be exposed.”
Q: What are you most looking forward to about this project? A: I look forward to the West Virginia Project because I think that we as young journalists have the opportunity to do some really interesting, quality work. I also think that it will be a great opportunity for West Virginia to have its stories heard by people living within and outside of the state. It’s going to be fantastic.

Q: What is your ultimate goal? A: Dream of all dreams – work at National Geographic. I want to live happily – not ever after – but happily.
Q: What other journalism experience do you have? A: I’ve spent one year as a staff photographer at the Daily Athenaeum and am going on my second year as photo editor. I have also traveled throughout Southeast Asia doing documentary work on the issue of human trafficking.
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time? A: I love to travel. I love photography, of course. I like baking and taking care of my houseplants. I have over a dozen healthy, beautiful plants.
