Welcome to the West Virginia Uncovered Tutorials Section!
The tutorials on this page are designed to help community newspapers use new media to better connect with readers. Users can listen to lectures, watch video demonstrations and view PDFs and PowerPoints on topics that include photography, audio, video and Web site management.
The tutorials were recorded during West Virginia Uncovered training workshops in early 2009. The workshops were conducted by Bill Kuykendall, a multimedia expert from the New Media Program at the University of Maine, and Mary Kay McFarland, the project coordinator and former multimedia editor for The Charleston Gazette. Additional tutorials on subjects such as citizen journalism, Web site interactivity and online advertising will be added in the early months of 2010.
