Welcome to the home of the West Virginia Uncovered online eTrainer site.

The tutorials on this page are designed to help community newspapers use new media to better connect with readers. Users can listen to lectures, watch video demonstrations and view PDFs and PowerPoints from each session. Topics include photography, audio, video and Web site management.

The online tutorials are culled from community newspaper training sessions we presented in Elkins and Romney, W.Va. Bill Kuykendall, a multimedia expert from the New Media Program at the University of Maine, organized and ran the workshops. Many of the participating newspapers have small staffs and limited budgets, so the workshops were developed specifically with their needs in mind.
